Ashley Wilfong

My name is Ashley Joy Wilfong, I was the girl who grew up designing Lego houses and moving my bedroom furniture around weekly. I always knew I wanted to be an interior designer.

And so I attended and graduated from Indiana University’s FIDER accredited Interior Design program. There I had the opportunity to design both commercial and residential spaces, but I chose to concentrate my two internships on residential interior design. I liked the idea of a more intimate setting designing in the home creates.

I began my career at a small upscale interior design company in Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan. A few years later, I found myself designing for the largest custom cabinet manufacturer in Michigan. During the course of five years in Michigan’s design community, I took in all the knowledge I could from my colleagues and by attending seminars and workshops through organizations like the National Kitchen and Bath Association.

Eager for a new challenge and change in scenery, I relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina. I was contracted as a designer for a reputable company in Myers Park where I had the opportunity to work on high-end projects and continue to refine my design style. A few years later I accepted a design sales position for a fortune 100 company gaining crucial project management skills. My diverse design background and clientele experience range from multi-million dollar new construction homes to servicing the most modest remodeling needs have made me a more knowledgeable and well-rounded designer.

The past year I have spent as a contracted designer, which is where I feel most at home as it gives me the most freedom with helping my clients. I use 20-20 Design to create three-dimensional computer generated drawings that help my clients truly visualize what their space will look like upon completion. During the design process it is very important to me to keep open lines of communication so my clients can feel comfortable and confident in expressing their vision. My goal is to maximize space in creative and functional ways by blending client ideas and individual needs. Designing a space in client’s home is a privilege. It’s a team effort to create a beautiful space and I am proud to say I have formed many lasting friendships with my clients.
